Opinion for the Day

Are you slightly addicted to your Facebook newsfeed?  Are there people that you follow blindly?

I’ve had to take a little step back and remind myself that these people that I follow – well, they are human too.  They have prejudices and cognitive biases and a range of distorted perceptions that I sometimes forget exist because I get sucked in to their writing or their style or their general “je ne sais quoi” (yep – for those of you who read Van Badham’s posts, I’m a private school educated ar$ehole!).

When you read what people post on social media, (unless you’re following a link to a peer reviewed journal or some other evidence/research based document), keep your inner critic in close reach, because occasionally, these people who seem witty and clever, they are just as flawed as the rest of us!!
